2016 / 360° VR Music Experience
[Sensory Designer] [Visual Master] [Techno-Humanist] [System Hacker]
Created as a collaborative project between NTT DOCOMO and Google/YouTube, this next-generation VR music video brings Dragon Ash's powerful performance to life through an immersive experience designed for an audience of one.
Combining 4K 360° VR cinematography using motion-control cameras (robotic arms) with YouTube's spatial audio technology, the film places viewers extraordinarily close to the artists—close enough to see their sweat, expressions, and even pulsing veins.
While conventional live-action VR often relies on fixed camera positions, motion-control technology enabled dynamic camera movements and visual effects such as multiple appearances of the performers within the same 360° environment.
The experience was also presented at a ten-day VR live event at Tokyo Skytree, attracting enthusiastic fans and filling every session. [Sensory Designer] [Visual Master] [Techno-Humanist] [System Hacker]
